This is a collection of projects that I worked on from graduate school in 2008 through today. It’s a little bit of everything – eLearning, Instructor Led Training, job aids, etc. Some of my projects are complete and some are just interactions that I built out. For those incomplete interactions, I borrowed a phrase from Cammy Bean and labeled them “Clicky-clicky bling-bling.” Sometimes, you need to work on something just to see if you can figure it out and maybe it just doesn’t fit in an entire CBT. That’s what clicky-clicky bling-bling is to me but Cammy Bean’s definition is below.
So what is clicky-clicky bling-bling? It’s eLearning with lots of whiz, lots of bang, lots of clicky-clicky in a lame attempt to add pizzazz to dry content to make it more engaging. Once you unwrap the sparkle, sadly, all you’re left with is a load of eLearning junk. Just because your eLearning sparkles and shivers and gets the learning clicking on lots of fancy hotspots and has them dragging things all over the screen does not mean that you have engaged the learner.
